Caucus Retreat + Georgia's Forestry Industry
Tropical Storm Debby Update
Dayle and I are continuing to pray for those impacted by Tropical Storm Debby in Southeast Georgia. Our emergency management agencies across the state are working around the clock to gather reports of damage to property, homes, and businesses. Please reach out to your county emergency management agency listed at the web page below for assistance:

House Caucus Retreat
Last week, I joined the Georgia House Republican Caucus to discuss our success in the 2024 Legislative Session and continue having conversations about our priorities for 2025. We’re proud of our work to pass historic tax reductions, increase public safety measures, and secure unprecedented investments in healthcare, education, and transportation.
The Georgia House is looking forward to continue delivering results on the kitchen table issues that impact every citizen of our state. In order to continue our record of success, it’s vital that we maintain strong conservative leadership at every level of government—and we’re committed to ensuring our candidates are successful up and down the ballot in November.
Georgia Forestry Association’s Annual Conference
Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the Georgia Forestry Association’s annual conference in Savannah. The forestry industry contributes over $42 billion in economic impact annually to our state and provides over 140,000 jobs for hardworking Georgians.
I always enjoy the opportunity to catch up with my friends in the industry and share the work we’ve done in the House to support the men and women who have made Georgia the number one state for forestry.
Ideas & Innovators Summit
I had a great time meeting with leaders from across the country at GOPAC’s Ideas and Innovators Summit this week. We discussed our policy priorities and shared our strategies to provide opportunity and economic prosperity to our states and the people we serve.
I also attended a swing state luncheon where I heard from fellow Speakers of the House about their strategies ahead of November’s election. We’re all looking forward to continue collaborating to ensure our incumbent State House members and conservative candidates are successful this election cycle.
It’s been another fantastic week working to share our accomplishments and strengthen our majority in the House. I hope everyone has a great weekend, and I look forward to speaking with all of you across the state soon.
My best,
Speaker Jon Burns
