Children's Healthcare + Tort Reform
Friends—
I hope you all have been enjoying the last few weeks of summer, with back to school and other activities in full swing. There has been no slowdown for us, as Dayle and I have been traveling the state, meeting with constituents and hearing from organizations and advocates. Check out some of the highlights from the past couple of weeks!
Visiting the New Campus of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
Last week, our team had the opportunity to tour Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA)’s brand new, state of the art facility in Atlanta. CHOA is a leading pediatric healthcare provider, renowned for their comprehensive care and innovative treatments for children. With a commitment to advancing medical research and offering compassionate support, they are working to ensure that young patients receive the highest quality care possible. The House has continued to lead on expanding access to quality, affordable healthcare across our state, and it was inspiring to see CHOA’s dedication to that mission.

Lawsuit Reform Roundtable
Last week, I had the opportunity to join a roundtable with Governor Kemp, Lieutenant Governor Jones, Insurance Commissioner John King, and small business owners from around the state. We discussed the challenges they face with insurance and the frequent issue of frivolous lawsuits. To keep Georgia the top state for business while protecting consumer rights, we discussed focusing on a balanced approach to litigation reform.
The Georgia House has made great progress in improving our litigation environment, but there’s still work to be done. As we look toward the next session, we will be guided by the facts, seek input from constituents and stakeholders, and explore data-driven solutions to balance business interests with quality of life. We look forward to working with Governor Kemp and our Senate colleagues to advance legislation that promotes economic growth and fairness for all Georgians.

Reception and Fundraiser for Representative Ken Vance
On Thursday, I had the pleasure of attending a reception and fundraiser for Representative Ken Vance in Milledgeville. Ken has done a fantastic job serving Middle Georgia in the House, and he has helped us on a range of issues, from tax cuts to investing in education, prioritizing public safety and improving the quality of life for his constituents across middle Georgia—as evidenced by the strong showing of so many supporters at his event.
I hope you’ll help us share Ken’s record of success and service with your family, friends and neighbors in Middle Georgia ahead of the November election.

Labor Day Weekend
College football is back in full swing this weekend, and our Georgia teams are poised for great seasons on and off the field. Georgia Tech had a fantastic signature win in Ireland against Florida State last week, and this weekend, Georgia faces off against Clemson in Atlanta, while our home team Georgia Southern squares off against Boise State in Statesboro.
I hope you all enjoy the long weekend with family and friends, enjoy some college football, and welcome the official start of the Fall season! As always, thank you for your continued friendship and support, and Dayle and I hope to see you soon.
My best,
Speaker Jon Burns
