First Week of Session
This week, the Georgia House reconvened under the Gold Dome for another busy and productive legislation session—and we’re ready to get to work for the people of our great state.
Annual Prayer Convocation Service
On Sunday, I joined members of the House for our annual prayer convocation service to kick off the beginning of the 2025 Legislative Session. Any time is a good time to go before the Lord in prayer, but especially as our leaders prepare to continue serving our constituents and championing policy to make Georgia a better place for every citizen.
We were incredibly grateful to be joined by the late Representative Richard Smith’s family to celebrate and honor his legacy, as well as the families of the seven individuals who were lost in the tragedy at Sapelo Island as we honored their memory. It was also a great blessing to reflect on the life of President Jimmy Carter, and I was honored to share one of his favorite bible verses with members of the House.
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. - Micah 6:8

First Day of Session
Monday, January 13th was the first day of the legislative session, and I was honored to be reelected by my colleagues in the House to serve another term as Speaker of the House.
Over the last two years, we have worked together to pass meaningful measures that have lowered taxes, brought historic opportunities to our state, supported our families and businesses, and driven Georgia forward. We will continue to prioritize policies that uplift every Georgian, and continue to make our state the best place to live, work, and raise a family.

My best,
