Majority Leader Burns Endorses Doug Collins for U.S. Senate

NEWINGTON, GA – Majority Leader of the Georgia House of Representatives Jon Burns today endorsed U.S. Congressman Doug Collins’ campaign for U.S. Senate.

“Until his retirement late last year, former U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson served our state and nation with tremendous intellect, integrity and character,” said Leader Burns. “As we turn our eyes towards building a brighter future for all Georgians, voters must now ask themselves who will best serve to continue Senator Isakson’s legacy of conservative leadership in the U.S. Senate.”

“While Georgians have two strong Republicans running for U.S. Senate, I believe Doug Collins is the best candidate to carry on the legacy of Senator Isakson,” Burns continued. “Having served with Doug in the state House, I witnessed firsthand not only his strength as a legislator and champion of pragmatic public policy but also his heart for the people of our great state. Doug has proven himself to be a relentless advocate for our Georgia values in the U.S. House of Representatives, and I know that, as our next U.S. Senator, Doug will continue to fight for every hardworking Georgian.”

“Majority Leader Burns has been an unwavering voice for Georgia conservatives in our state’s legislature since he took office,” said Congressman Collins. “I ’m honored to have the Leader’s support and humbled by his faith in me to carry on the legacy of U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson.”

Jon Burns was first elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2004 and has served as the House Majority Leader since 2015. Leader Burns represents Screven County and portions of Effingham and Bulloch Counties. ###
