Economic Development + Southeast Georgia
Friends—
It has been another busy and productive week meeting with constituents, talking to organizations, and discussing the issues that matter most with Georgians across the state. Check out some of the highlights from this week!
Savannah Rotary Club
On Monday, I met with members of the Savannah Rotary Club where we discussed their incredible work on behalf of their community, and the critical role of the Southeast Georgia region in Georgia’s historic economic success. It was great to catch up with so many friends and share our House priorities heading into the 2025 Legislative Session.

Receptions and Fundraisers
This week, I had the opportunity to support a couple of our incumbent House members ahead of the November election.
Representative Deborah Silcox hosted us on Monday night, and it was a pleasure to talk with her constituents about the incredible job she has done championing Georgia’s families, expanding access to education, and supporting our efforts to increase healthcare availability for communities throughout Georgia. I hope you’ll join us in sharing Representative Silcox’s winning message with our friends and supporters in House District 53.

I also had the opportunity to join Representative Scott Hilton in Peachtree Corners alongside several fellow members of the House. Representative Hilton has been a great partner in the House as we’ve worked to pass historic tax cuts, school safety funding, and public safety measures—and I’m looking forward to continuing our work together.

Interview with WSB-TV
It was great to sit down with WSB-TV reporter Richard Elliot to discuss our plans to continue bolstering school safety and increasing access to mental healthcare. The shooting at Apalachee High School was a tragedy that no parent, student, or teacher should ever have to face, and the Georgia House is committed to passing measures that prevent another tragedy of this nature from ever happening in our state again.
You can visit the WSB-TV website to watch the interview.

Georgia Economic Developers Association
On Thursday, I joined the Georgia Economic Developers Association for their annual conference in Savannah. Governor Kemp recently announced that Georgia has maintained the designation of “Best Place for Business” for an eleventh consecutive year—an accomplishment that is a testament to the dedication of our state’s leaders, employers, economic developers, and hardworking Georgians across the state.
It was a great opportunity to celebrate the 2,100 new projects, $87 billion in investments, and 185,000 new jobs that have come to our state since 2019, and share our plans to keep Georgia the best place to live, work, and raise a family.
