Lawsuit Reform + Friends at the Capitol
Today was legislative day 33, which means there are just seven legislative days left in the 2025 session. The House is continuing to champion strong, conservative policies that will uplift Georgians in every corner of the state. From education, healthcare, and public safety to tax rebates and economic development—we’re looking forward to continuing our work on behalf of our communities and the great state of Georgia.
Lawsuit Reform
After a robust discussion on Senate Bill 68, Governor Kemp’s comprehensive tort reform package, the members of the House took another critical step to deliver substantive, meaningful lawsuit reform that will return much-needed balance to our litigation environment, stabilize our insurance markets, and protect the rights of Georgians.
The members of the Subcommittee of Rules on Lawsuit Reform worked tirelessly to craft legislation that ensures fairness for Georgia’s citizens and businesses alike—and will protect our businesses from frivolous lawsuits while upholding the right of those with legitimate claims to be made whole. We’re looking forward to the legislation’s signature by Governor Kemp.
Insurance Study Committee
Earlier this week, I announced the creation of a House Study Committee on Insurance Reform.
We know that insurance coverage is vital for the success and well-being of individuals and businesses, and for too long, insurance premiums have been increasing at an alarming rate, placing an unsustainable financial burden on policyholders and businesses across this state.
The House looks forward to taking a comprehensive look at our insurance industry's rate-setting practices, profit margins, and regulatory compliance to ensure that consumers are not being subjected to unjustified rate hikes.

Wexford Delegation of Georgia Southern
It was an honor to host friends and officials from Wexford, Ireland in the House Chamber to celebrate the continued partnership between Ireland and our great state.
The Wexford Campus of Georgia Southern has provided incredible experiential learning opportunities to over 300 undergraduate and graduate students across a range of disciplines and continues to foster a strong economic development partnership that makes a significant impact on Georgia’s economy.
We’re grateful for the friendship of our partners in Ireland and look forward to many more years of continued collaboration.
