Georgia Is Thriving

Georgia’s fiscal year recently ended on June 30th, and the news out of the Gold Dome provided reassurance that despite what is going on in Joe Biden’s Washington, we remain on a great path here at home. 

Despite the regular tax cuts that we have passed in the State Legislature, Georgia’s annual tax collections were over $33 billion dollars, a 23% increase over last year. 

In some liberal states, such an increase could mean only one thing - tax hikes. 

Not in Georgia. 

Governor Kemp and our Republican majority in the General Assembly have enacted tax cuts, tax credits, and other reductions in the amount that comes out of your paycheck. 

As a result, Georgia’s economy continues to grow.  Many of our neighbors are using those additional dollars to grow their businesses and create jobs. 

And low taxes continue to draw the best and brightest to our state from around the country, seeking out new opportunities that only Georgia can provide. 

I look forward to future opportunities to return more of these dollars to the Georgians that earned them from the state’s coffers.  

Governor Kemp is continuing to do that where it matters today, with the extension of the gas tax holiday into August, reducing the cost of gas to offset the increased prices that have resulted from Washington mismanagement. 

I look forward to continuing opportunities to save taxpayer funds and streamline state government over the new fiscal year. 

While some candidates continue to jet around the country raising campaign dollars in places like New York, California, and Washington DC, I can assure you that Republican leadership will continue to focus our efforts on helping you here in Georgia.  

Conclusion

Our national economy remains on difficult footing right now as a result of federal mismanagement and international events.  

However, economic growth in Georgia remains strong, and with the leadership of Governor Kemp, Speaker Ralston, and our entire legislative team, we will continue to do all we can to protect our state from Washington’s bad decisions.
