Election Day is Finally Here!

Friends,

As we approach Election Day on Tuesday, November 3, I hope you all have either voted already or have made plans to do so on Election Day. As of the end of the day on Thursday, October 29, more than 19,000 voters in Effingham County have voted absentee or in-person, 41% of registered voters in Effingham County. Bulloch County has had more than 17,000 votes cast, almost 38% of registered voters. Over 4,100 voters in Screven County have cast their votes, more than 41% of all registered voters in the county. Overall in District 159, over 40% of registered voters have already cast their ballot for the 2020 General Election. For voters who have not yet voted, you can visit the Georgia Secretary of State’s website at www.MVP.SOS.GA.gov to find your polling place or find your Absentee Ballot status if you voted absentee.

State-wide, over 3.6 million Georgians have cast their ballots, many for the first time. Our state has set records this election year in Absentee Ballots and Early In-Person voting. As of October 29, close to 2.5 million early votes have been cast, with over 1.1 million Absentee Ballots returned to be counted. These numbers are significantly higher than 2016, where only 2.11 million voters took advantage of Early Voting and Absentee Ballots.

Recently, I shared with you three topics that would be presented on your ballot this year. If you have questions about these Constitutional Amendments or the Referendum you will find on your ballot, please check out my recent newsletter summarizing these items. Additionally, you will find the Presidential race, two United States Senate races, Congressional races, and Local and State races. If you would like to view a sample ballot, you can also find this by accessing the link for the Secretary of State’s website. I urge you to complete your entire ballot from top to bottom.

Thank you all for allowing me to represent Georgia House District 159. It is truly an honor to work for you and this great state.
